Freedom Road 1947-1987 40th Anniversary Voie de la Liberté

This medal is a commemorative medal issued by the Luxembourg Committee of the Freedom Road (Comité Luxembougeois de la Voie de la Liberté), marking the Freedom Road and its 40th anniversary in 1987. The obverse of the medal depicts the Freedom Road monument, which marks the historic route taken by the Allied troops after the Normandy landings. The reverse bears the inscription: "40th Anniversary of the Freedom Road 1947-1987." („ 40 ème Anniversaire de la Voie de la Liberté 1947-1987“). It was issued by the Luxembourg Committee of the Freedom Road (Voie de la Liberté).

The medal is used but in good condition. There are some minor, light corrosion spots on both the obverse and reverse. Metal. Dimensions: 5.80 cm. Weight without packaging: 62 g.
